I had a wonderful teacher who was strict, a little scary, and had one crazy eye. Yet, she was an amazing reader and read out loud to us every Friday. She was expressive and enthusiastic. I especially remember her reading this book and how it deeply moved my 3rd grader self. What a wonderful memory! Thanks for bringing it to mind!Laura {Gypsea Tree}https://www.blogger.com/profile/02458031063227805615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7605456781483914021.post-78254071376299493592010-03-06T20:59:04.349-06:002010-03-06T20:59:04.349-06:00I like that you have a mini-me!! I think E.B. White is probably one of the most influential American writers ever--sure, his work for the New Yorker was important, but Charlotte's Web, Stuart Little, and The Trumpet Swan have touched so many lives and sparked so many imaginations.

Nice to have a mini-me :)JaneGShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11094501834387622997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7605456781483914021.post-28510317850984454192010-03-06T20:24:56.584-06:002010-03-06T20:24:56.584-06:00What a great story, Lisa! I haven't read The Trumpet Swan, but it sounds like a good story.Literary Felinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13079276242303738719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7605456781483914021.post-23154843496912482762010-03-06T19:19:49.749-06:002010-03-06T19:19:49.749-06:00I've never read it, though I did love Charlott...I've never read it, though I did love Charlotte's Web when I was a kid.
