My son got a new job, worked it for two days, quit because of people coming in WITH COVID and not wearing a mask, walked into Williams Sonoma and got a new job. I can't keep track. I sure hope you all have a safe and healthy Thanksgiving and that Mini-him is Covid free as well. We are sticking to just us this year. Everybody is staying at their respective houses this year. I'm trying to make the best of it. I know what I need and I just hope I can get it all bought and cooked in time!

I made a lovely little cocktail over the weekend call gingerbread cocktail. It was just yummy.

We're hoping to get all the decor down and xmas decor up this weekend as well. It's hard to want to put up all the things when you know you can't host and have people over but it's also so pretty to enjoy on your own. I hope you can find a nice balance.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Lisa! I loved Crawdads, want to read Transcendent Kingdom, and my husband and I are both big Tana French fans.

We have also been watching Queen's Gambit. I never thought I'd find a show about chess interesting, but we're loving it.

I'm still working on getting my Thanksgiving decorations UP right now! We may go get our Christmas tree early (next weekend) though because the past 2 years, they sold out super early and it seems like lots of people are already decorating now.

I hear you on all the holiday uncertainties. Whew, same here! Our two sons (in their 20's) are coming home with their girlfriends (one of them just moved out 3 weeks ago), but we are planning separate tables, masks, windows open (brr!), etc. And we finally decided to exclude my 95-yo FIL. We were agonizing over what to do because the isolation has been hard on him, but he's the one who finally said he shouldn't come because it's too risky. So, he'll have dinner Thursday at his Independent Living place, and on Friday, we'll bring him all the leftovers for an outdoor lunch there :)

Crazy times! Hope you enjoy your books, food, and family this week -

Sue

Book By BookSue Jacksonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14532098225905355332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7605456781483914021.post-36249622858641778452020-11-22T09:05:18.182-06:002020-11-22T09:05:18.182-06:00I hope you guys have an amazing Thanksgiving howev...I hope you guys have an amazing Thanksgiving however you choose to celebrate it. This year, it's hard - How do we put aside years of tradition? And yet, we've all done that all year long. Hopefully the end is in sight.

Hope your son tests negative. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for him. Athirahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03366654538383603004noreply@blogger.com
