I enjoyed the gentle humour yet serious undertones of the first - the aspirations of an immigrant living in a country setting and the length one goes to in order to fit in, don't remember much about the second and The Song Collector was my favourite. It just seems to fit books like this! And I must see the movie because it's one of the few Cary Grant movies I've missed.
