I'm glad I'm not the only one that was a bit... eh about it, though in love with it despite the flaws. I was just confused literally about the last page. The way she wrote about how Roux was getting ready and restless and "Roux would never live in a house. Even a houseboat is limiting. And Lansquenet is small, Roux. Small people. Small minds. In the end, you came with me because you knew she'd never leave--" It was a sad ending. Like after everything, it meant nothing and even though Roux is not the father of Josephine's boy, it's like he still loved her better than Vianne or something. Idk, sorry, ramble, but was hoping someone else could expand/explain...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7605456781483914021.post-72976747844269007462012-11-17T11:36:20.856-06:002012-11-17T11:36:20.856-06:00I thought this was a trilogy. I can understand loving a book despite it's flaws. That's sort of how I feel about The Night Circus. Lots of great descriptions and a wonderful atmosphere, but not a lot of character development. It will be interesting to see where she goes from here.Zibileehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07443338685890187334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7605456781483914021.post-1569754102115935592012-11-14T08:55:31.438-06:002012-11-14T08:55:31.438-06:00Sounds a little loose at the end there but I loved...Sounds a little loose at the end there but I loved the first book. I read it so long ago though. I don't remember too much except that I loved the setting.
