The Book List Meme - February 24

This week's Book List Meme, hosted by Rebecca of Lost in Books, asks for three books that should be made into movies. As hard as last week's was for me, this one was a piece of cake.

1. The Birth House by Canadian author Ami McKay (one of my book clubs favorite reads last year)

2. People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks--this one would have to be done very carefully so as not to overlook any of the great historical pieces.

3. Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen

I would also include Jennie Nash's The Last Beach Bungalow. I wish there was some way to do Bel Canto by Ann Patchett but I think there's just too much there to do it justice.

  2. Definitely Water for Elephants.

I am reading a book called The Seamstress,
and I could so see Catherine Zeta Jones in the lead.

  9. I haven't read any of these so I cannot weigh in.

I think nearly anything these days can be made into a movie. The question is SHOULD they be. Haha.

  10. I 100000% agree on Water for Elephants. Couldn't you just see someone like James Caan playing older Jacob?

  11. The birth house would either be wonderful or horribly produced as a movie. One of my favorites from last year (and a CA author, which you know I have a softspot for).

Water for Elephants would make for a good viewing experience (I am the only person I know who didn't love this book, didn't hate it thougth)

  17. I just read in Entertainment Weekly that Water for Elephants is being made into a movie. Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson's names have been linked to it.

I haven't read any of the books you mention for this, but they're all books I do want to read.

    Great picks!
