This Week I'm:
Listening To: I'll be starting Jacqueline Mitchard's sequel to The Deep End of The Ocean, No Time To Say Goodbye. I loved both The Deep End of the Ocean and the movie adaptation starring Michelle Pfeiffer. I'm really looking forward to this one.
Reading: I raced through Timothy Schaffert's The Phantom Limbs of the Rollow Sisters this week. I've been wanting to pick up his latest, Swan Gondola, but thought I should get caught up with the books by him I already own. Today I'm starting Jojo Moyes' One Plus One; I've got high hopes for this one!
Making: More black bean burgers, this time a curry variation. I'm told they are delicious; I may finally break down and eat one.
Planning: I stripped wallpaper in my bathroom yesterday and I'm planning to paint this week. I have been wanting to get this done for years!
Grateful for: Finding frames for new glasses so easily this week. This usually takes me weeks. In fact, the last time I got my eyes tested, I never could decide on a new set of frames. Sometimes, I'm kind of high maintenance.
Enjoying: The party on the patio (and by patio, I mean the entire backyard). So much delicious food, music that had everyone clapping and singing along, and a fantastic fireworks show...all before the storms even had a chance to shut things down. And did I mention a margarita machine?
Feeling: I've had a lot of time with my kiddos this week which always makes me feel contented.
Looking forward to: A three and a half day weekend! Plenty of time to read, celebrate our independence, and be productive.
What are you looking forward to this week?
Sounds like you had another good week despite the rain and a long weekend coming up can't be bad. The weather has taken a down turn here so I think we're hoping that we have some more dry weather as the Tour de France comes to Yorkshire next weekend and there's the second week of Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championship. Will be looking out for
ReplyDeleteJo Jo Moyes' latest which I might have to buy as can't get it from the library.
I like black bean burgers and am intrigued with the idea of a curry variation... will be curious to know if you try one.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for this long weekend. My oldest will be coming home from the city Wed-Sun and it will be so nice to have her around for so long!
My sister has one of those margarita machines... love it!!
I don't quite like the sound of black bean burgers and please oh please send the rain here!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're having a lovely week! The party by the patio sounds like lots of fun. I'm curious about the black bean burgers! I keep hearing they're really good but am to chicken to try them too!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a great week at your house. Congrats on stripping that wallpaper! We all have those projects that have been on the docket for years, and it feels so good to get them done!
ReplyDeleteI'd gladly take your ran if it were possible for you to send it. Although maybe not this or next week. Mouse starts her swim lessons next week and I wouldn't want to spoil that for her.
ReplyDeleteI'll be curious to know what you think of No Time to Say Goodbye. I read the first book years ago and remember really being moved by it.
You always seem to productive! There are so many projects I would love to do around the house. Finding the time and figuring out where to start are a problem.
Enjoy your week! It's a long week for me, and I'm working the holiday--so no break for me just yet.
Ooooh that's right! Three day weekend! Meaning hub will be home from work. LOL! Send some of that rain our way. We've had a fairly "cool" June so far but I think it's over and we'll be creeping into the high 90s this week. Some rain is in the forecast but I doubt any of it will drop. So it goes with summer in Texas.
ReplyDeleteOooh, good luck with the painting! Stripping wallpaper is a chore! I bet you'll love it when you're done.
Have a great week Lisa!
That party on the patio certainly looks like a lot of fun! I read a Timothy Schaffert book (Coffins of Lost Hope?) couple of years back but wasn't too impressed. He could certainly tell a good story though. His new one sounds intriguing.
ReplyDeleteOh man we need some rain! They said on the news that it would have to rain about 19 inches for us to be okay this year and normally it rains about 4 inches and we haven't even had that. Everything is so dry and crisp and if brush fires take us over, like they do most year, the water to put them out will just put us in deeper.
