Mailbox Monday - September 7th

It was a very good week at my house, with several visits from the Fed Ex and UPS men. From the publishers, I received "The Man Who Loved Books Too Much" by Allison Hoover Bartlett, "The Evolution of Shadows" by Jason Quinn Malott, "Bending Toward The Sun" by Leslie Gilbert-Laurie and "The Way Home" by George Pelecanos. I'm hoping to have dual reviews for a couple of these. From the author, I received "Intimations of Austen" by Jane Greensmith.

I have definitely got to pick up my reading because I've also recently been to the library and still have the challenges to complete! At least my family is all on the mend, so my nursing duties seem to be at an end.

  2. Haha, I did not even notice that. :) But yeah, the book was really good.

Hey, I have to ask that what is that book "Intimations of Austen" about? :)

  5. The Man Who Loved Books Too Much was offered to me but I turned it down since I am too overwhelmed with dates right now. I look forward to your thoughts on it.

  6. You just reminded me that I need to check my mailbox! Not that I'm expecting any books, but one can hope, right?

I hope you enjoy your new books! I'm eager to hear what you think of The Way Home. I enjoyed the one Pelecanos book I read a couple of years ago.

    Enjoy your books!

  10. Milka,
Intimations of Austen is a collection of short stories using the works of Austen as a springboard. Greensmith writes about backstories, sequels and what-ifs.
