Sunday Salon

Oh, do not let that cute little guy below fool you! The H1N1 flu has swept through my house this week and it is not fun at all. Two of my kids missed three days of school so they get to spend their long weekend trying to get caught up on schoolwork. Now my oldest and I are working our way through it. My husband is staying as far away from the rest of us as possible! The kids' doctor tells us that the flu is "rampant" in this area. By the time they finally get the immunization ready, it will be too late for eastern Nebraska. More for the rest of you, I guess!

I've been so out of it the past couple of days that I've hardly gotten any reading done and no posts added and struggled to get through my Google reader. I've been trying to read the posts, but really haven't had the energy to leave comments. Did finish "Last Night In Montreal" today and started "The Red Tent" for the Whitcoull Challenge.

  1. Lisa, my challenge update just means I watch a lot of movies while taking care of my little Gabe!

  2. Gosh, I hope you and your family feel better! I know how your husband feels! I avoid my husband like the plague even when he's got a cold sore!

    Feel better!!!

  3. I have a 20 month old and am not looking forward to this fall when the flu is going to kick in. The vaccine won't be available until October. Atleast he is not in daycare anymore.

    Grrr...

Glad you found SOME time to read.

    Take care,
    Michelle (Red Headed Book Child)

  4. Oh no! I hope you're all feeling better soon. They need to get moving with that vaccine, already!

  5. So sorry to hear you are all sick! I hope that you are feeling better very soon! I've been contemplating whether I should get the vaccine if it/when becomes available here. I tend to only get sick when I get immunized so I'm not sure... I hope all is well for you VERY soon. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on The Red Tent as I just read it recently myself.

  7. You are not the only one who did not know that there is also a book. :) Last night I looked from Amazon and Ebay that do they have it, but they did not. I would like to get a English copy of it.

H1N1 is also coming to Finland. The government has planned that they will give the medicine to all people, but it is not sure yet.

  9. I hope you are feeling better soon! I am planning to get the vaccine when it comes out in October--I think that was the latest date we've been given.

I'm eager to hear what you think of Last Night In Montreal and The Red Tent.

  10. I read The Rent Tent a few years ago and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. My sister recommended it, and we have quite different tastes. I'll be checking back for your review.
