I'm on top of things this week so this week's Book List Meme is coming to you on time! The Book List Meme is hosted by Rebecca of Lost in Books. This week's list asks for: 3 Fiction Worlds I Would Like to Hang Out In:
Surrey, England at the turn of the 19th century as depicted by Jane Austen in "Emma"
Doris Kearns Goodwin's 1950's Brooklyn New York from Wait Till Next Year
Narnia from C. S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia
What fictional world would you like to hang out in?
That's a good question. I can think of some fictional words I would NOT want to hang out in - Margaret Atwood's Republic of Gilead from The Handmaid's Tale immediately comes to mind - but I'm struggling to think of one I would want to hang out in.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to live in Narnia. Every time Aslan shows up, I get tears in my eyes.
ReplyDeleteAnd now, I'm going to go hide after my embarrassing admission...
I thought about Emma's world! Narnia would be nice too. Great list.
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter would be pretty fun without Voldemort and as long as I was not a muggle!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, 19th century England would only be fun if you were from the upper classes.
ReplyDeleteI agree about Narnia.
I could handle Rivendell in the Middle Earth of LOTR.
I'll have to think about a third.

Publish or Perish
I'd hang out in any of those!!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to hang out in one of the "good" 500 Kingdoms from the Meredes Lackey books.
ReplyDeletePine Cove from Christopher Moore's books would be interesting.
And I think Harry Potter world would be super-cool, especially if I could hang out at Hogwarts!
Yeah Narnia! =)
ReplyDeleteOh no, you should still check Eternal on The Water out. The story (man and woman, one of them die) just reminds me of a Nicholas Sparks story. :)
ReplyDeleteSorry I am all late getting over here, Lisa! Your answers are great. I love Austen so that answer is probably my favorite. :)
ReplyDelete1.Definitely Middle-earth.
ReplyDelete2.Pellinor from Alison Croggon
3.Narnia
