Sunday Salon - January 30
I did finally finish The Center Cannot Hold by Elyn Saks. It's the story of living with schizophrenia and to say that it scared the wits out of me would be an understatement. It's actually been one of my "mom fears" that one of my children would develop schizophrenia but it was really my boys that I was the most worried about. Now I've got to worry about my daughter, too!
I've got absolutely no books I "have" to read for review for February. I'm hoping to use the month to read books for challenges and the goals I've set for the year. I'm putting together the stack of books I want to read for March, a month I've designated as Mystery March. I've managed to talk The Big Guy into reading one or two mysteries with me as well. Hmm, it's just occurred to me that my parents both enjoy mysteries/thrillers so I'll bet I can talk them into reading and reviewing a couple of books as well. Right, Mom and Dad?

Sounds like you have had a great weekend with family! The reading will come later! Enjoy the week.ReplyDelete
Mystery March, I like that! Mysteries is a genre I tend to neglect-not sure why. Think I read too many growing up and they'd keep me up too late at night. ;)ReplyDelete
Hope February turns into a nice reading month for you. I'd try to talk you into reading Ulysses with us since your schedule is wide open, but... I think you're probably sane to stay away. Sometimes it's nice not to have any obligations hanging over your head!
Enjoy what's left of your weekend, Lisa.
I like the idea of Mystery March. I have decided this to going to be the year of mystery for me with my new challenge and all. I'm just in the mood for those these days!!ReplyDelete
The Center Cannot Hold sounds amazing and I am off to look it up right now! I know what you mean about entertaining and not being able to read, because that has been my weekend as well. I hope that you have a great week in reading!ReplyDelete
I've been known to read books while visiting with others. I would never do it with people I was meeting for the first time but everyone who knows me, KNOWS me and finds it quite natural when I pull a book or Kindle out.ReplyDelete
Lisa, sounds like you had such a great time with your family - that is awesome! And I love the idea of a mystery month and March seems to fit the bill. Enjoy the no review month:)ReplyDelete
No review books for the month!! Yay for you...enjoy and have fun!ReplyDelete
Bet you're gonna enjoy just reading for pleasure in the next month :) I, for once, actually have at least 3 books to read and review this month, but I'm looking forward to all of them.ReplyDelete
BTW, how did you like the Eat Pray Love movie?
