This Week I'm:

Watching: Basketball this weekend, The Voice, and Selfridge on PBS tonight.
Reading: I read a childhood favorite (and book on my Classics Club list), A Little Princess then moved on to something that couldn't be any more different, Alicia Nutting's Tampa, which is disturbing, to say the least. I'm also reading Anna Quindlen's Miller's Valley, which I'm enjoying every bit as much as I was hoping I would.
Making: Hmmm, it was a lazy week in the kitchen this week, some sandwiches, salads, soups. For Easter I did make a layered lettuce salad and a cheesecake.
Planning: Nothing on the calendar this week we have to do. We may just keep the calendar clear.
Thinking About: Gardening and bringing more color to our outdoors.
Enjoying: Having all three of my kids with us today for the holiday.
Feeling: Tired. Is it bedtime yet?
Looking forward to: Getting my hair cut and colored this week. It's way past time!
Question of the week: What do you most look forward to in the spring?
That layered salad looks good. I haven't made one of those in forever. Need to remember it. Glad you got to spend some time with family.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't made one in a long time, either. But we all love it and I love to have it for leftovers.
DeleteYour food pics are making me hungry! Especially that plate of deviled eggs on the Easter meal because I adore them but don't have them really ever. That cheesecake also looks amazing and I want to try that layered lettuce salad! It sounds like you had a really nice holiday. You know I don't think I've ever read A Little Princess which is weird because The Secret Garden was one of my favorite books. I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteMy sister's MIL made two platefuls of deviled eggs! My vegetarian was so excited to have them for his protein.
DeleteI'm reading Miller's Valley right now, too, and loving it!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it perfect?!
DeleteYour Easter spread looks so yummy!! We had a yummy meal too and I am eating it for lunch all week long. I LOVE deviled eggs but I never make them.
ReplyDeleteI think I've only made deviled eggs once myself, mostly because I don't care for them myself so it seems like a lot of work for something I don't really eat.
DeleteYour cheesecake looks amazing. Yum! What a handy BIL you have. We had an early Easter dinner before last weekend. My mum made corned beef, cabbage, and buttered carrots. We were oinkin' out. I brought apple cake (sheet pan) and my SIL had brought some shrimp.
ReplyDeleteMmmm - I would loved to have had shrimp!
DeleteAnd ooh! I wanna see your new 'do. I got mine cut mid-March and it was all about the double undercuts for a mohawk.
ReplyDeleteMohawk? Wow - I definitely couldn't go into my office with that! I just cut off 3+" of length and my daughter gave me a hard time.
